University of South Carolina's Proving Ground is a three round entrepreneurial competition hosted at the Darla Moore School of Business. ASSET pitched the innovative floor vibration technology for detecting human falls and measuring gait speed towards mitigating falls among older adults. The technology would reduce reliance on worn devices such as pendants that are often not worn or the person incapacitated and cannot activate. Further, the innovation could provide actionable information to identify those at high risk of falling, enabling caregivers to take preventative measures before a life-changing, injurious fall occurs. The final round took place as a live pitch competition to a panel of judges, similar to Shark Tank, with ASSET winning second place overall.
